75) Complete dental treatment, which helps patients from 0 to 100 years old

Aracatuba, Sao Paulo (Brazil) - Search recent World Health Organization (WHO) indicates that in 2005 the public service of Dentistry Aracatuba index showed positive for the oral health of children, compared with previous years.
The information was disclosed this Wednesday by Secretary of Health of the council, with regard to the Dentist Day, celebrated every 25th of October. Aracatuba is headquarters of the Faculty of Dentistry of Unesp, which contributes to that degree of efficiency, according to experts in the area.
The figures show that children up to 12 years of age are below the world average of teeth, lost and stopped. Already the percentage of children free of caries to 5 years of age is 50%.
The head of the division of dental Aracatuba, the dentist Dirce Sato Shimata, said the figures achieved by the city in search of the WHO are the result of efforts of the professional teams of each unit, with activities of prevention, guidance and educational lectures. Dirce recalls that dental services were offered only to pregnant women, infants and children by 2001. The adults received treatment for emergencies, such as extraction of teeth, in cases of pain.
"Today the city offers a complete dental treatment, which helps patients from 0 to 100 years old," he explains. The municipal dental care is done in several places: Ready-Relief; Clinic of the Baby; units of the Dona Amelia and Jussara, on 19 Emefs (Municipal Schools for elementary school); state schools; CEO (Center for Dental Specialties); office in outpatient STD / AIDS; teams of FHP (Family Health Program); programme of brushing, developed in 80 Emeis (Municipal Schools of Education Child), and dental services specialist with two dentists who work in partnership with Unesp of Aracatuba.
This Wednesday, the service dental work done education on disease prevention and guidance on the care with oral hygiene in all units of dental council. During the period of service in those units, the population can receive explanations about oral health, such as brushing, the correct way to use dental floss, diet.
