62) I lost my teeth, and now?

In terms of today we will talk about a technique that is called: Protocol. If you've lost all their teeth, or many of them undoubtedly this technique can solve your case, so quickly, without much pain and with a relatively low cost. The protocol will return to you a correct chew food, will end the embarrassment of smiling and thus return the format that was before the face of the absence of teeth.
Before the dental implants, there was no fixed solution available to people who had lost all their teeth. Today, it is possible to replace a jaw with some teeth without dental implants and a bridge supported fixed on them which will result in a permanent solution, stable and high aesthetics.
Advantages of a Protocol on implants:
When all the teeth are missing or are in such a state that is necessary to replace them, a fixed bridge supported on dental implants is the best solution. The Protocol:
- allows you to eat and act as if it had natural teeth;
- a solid and stable solution to it serve for life;
- preserves the appearance of the face - prevents loss of bone.
Treatment:
The procedure for treatment and the number of consultations depends above all, the specific conditions. But in general, 5 to 10 consultations should be sufficient for the placement of a fixed bridge. Most patients account that felt much more comfortable than expected during the procedure.
The procedure for the treatment described here is only one, possibly several alternatives available:
1. Before the procedure the dentist determines the procedure necessary to start treatment;
2. Place the implants - the first step is the placement of dental implants to replace the root of the teeth. In this case, five implants are used. They are placed provisional teeth that let you eat and function normally while awaiting the final placement of the bridge.
3. Setting the Protocol - the protocol or permanent bridge is firmly placed on the implants. In the case of a jaw with teeth, are usually 1 to 3 consultations needed to completely fix the bridge.
4. End result - will be difficult to distinguish which new teeth and what the natural teeth - both for themselves and for others. People who used conventional prostheses before experiencing a fixed bridge protocol, this option often describe as an extremely positive experience and unmatched.
ALTERNATIVE TO BRIDGE FIXED PROTOCOL
An alternative to fixed bridge is the use of an implant-supported overdenture. The traditional prosthesis, Denture, has several disadvantages and, if possible, should be avoided.
a) implant overdenture on removable: a plug-in overdenture ball or retained by bar, which in turn is supported by two or more implants in front of the jaw. The implants help keep the prosthesis in place and provide better function and comfort. The cost is usually the reason why this solution is chosen rather than a fixed bridge - but the end result is not comparable.
b) complete removable prosthesis: a dentures that are placed loosely on the gums to supply the missing teeth. This alternative does not have great advantages - with the exception of its low cost and easy installation. The disadvantages are many: discomfort to eat, poor aesthetics, problems with speech and pain in the gums caused by the movement of the prosthesis. In addition, a complete prosthesis placed on the upper jaw severely reduces the palate.
