The coordinator of the Office of Dentistry, Eva Regina Grings, highlights the week that includes students from pre to the 8 th grade of elementary school. "At the time of application will be developed a lecture on care with oral hygiene, diet and and techniques for cleaning of the teeth" states the dentist. Children will still be targeted which unit of health should seek if need dental care. "The purpose of the week of healthy smile is making the dental caries prevention. The fluoride protects the tooth enamel and leaves the most resistant to the bacteria that cause the disease, "says Eva. The reapplication of the material should be held every six months, in addition to the visit to the dentist. Students also receive a kit with a brush and toothpaste to take back home.
