12) The attention of all primary and secondary schools in Portugal

The National Program Oral Health sets as a goal for 2010 all children between three and 16 years have access to a dentist. An order signed by the Secretary of State for Health, Francisco Ramos, last December, approved the contract of clinics by each Regional Health Administration. The state pay 75 euros for each patient.
According to the Directorate General of Health, 140 thousand children have been treated under programs of this kind. The aim is to extend the service to all of this age and pregnant. The model serves as the clinical testing: a patient goes to a private office, but the expense is archway by the state.
