170) Sponsorships for the implementation of projects of oral health in schools

Varzea Grande (Brazil) - The municipal secretary of health, Guilherme Maluf, met yesterday (01) morning with entrepreneurs and representatives of entities of class to present the project Learning Smiling created with the aim of resuming the program of prevention in oral health in schools in the municipal system of education.
Under the coordination of Oral Health of SMS, Rita Sinohara, prevention brings extremely important in preventing cavities and extractions. "In addition to teaching to brush their teeth, our teams apply fluoride and dental kits distributed to children," he explains.
Today the Secretary Guilherme Maluf met potential partners for the resumption of the program. Participants of the meeting representatives of networks of supermarkets, hotels, pharmacies, entities of class, dental, dental conventions and businessmen from other branches that will return in media in the form of sponsorship.
"We noticed that the entrepreneurial class is increasingly aware of their social responsibilities and we believe the project will be well received mainly because it represents better quality of life for local people," concludes the Secretary.
During the meeting the president of the Association Shopping Popular, Misael Galvão, said participation in the partnership. "We know the reality of the periphery and know how will this project may represent in terms of reduction of caries and extractions," said.
Gustavo Moreira de Oliveira - President of the Union of Dentists of Mato Grosso (Sinodonto), praised the initiative of the Municipal Department of Health "Caring oral health of citizens is still possible to avoid many other complications to the health of people," said Gustavo, referring to problems of low birth weight, premature births, heart problems, among others. "Our union is available to this partnership," he said.
The project also received unrestricted support of the Regional Council of Dentistry. "There are campaigns in preventive oral health in the media and this project with support from partners, will allow the guidelines to schools and thus reach the families," considered the organization's president, Hani Fares.
Representatives of the supermarkets Comper and Model also attended the meeting and acknowledged the importance of learning Smiling. The University of Cuiabá also was present and confirmed its willingness to resume the partnership in human resources.

I have presented a whole series of examples of initiatives taken in Portugal and abroad in the field of oral health. I hope and wish that the authorities may take away some initiatives so that can put into practice. Because time is short, it is now necessary to act today.
