The current Chairman of the Order of Dentists (OMD) and a candidate in the forthcoming elections today defended the regulation and control of commercial companies who provide oral health care, some of them owned by people outside the profession. Orlando Monteiro da Silva warns against the danger of these companies, engaged in misleading advertising, conducting himself almost exclusively by a business logic without regard to ethics and ethics of the profession.
