112) Germans teeth with the price of China

The dentist is increasingly expensive and the box of German aid scheme ever less on health care spending. In a society accustomed to have all of the health system, the cuts made with the reforms of the last two government beginning to be felt. But a beautiful smile is no longer so expensive now and we must not cross the border of Poland, as many Germans still choose to do. The German company McZahn AG (now called McDentista) propose to solve the problem by ensuring dental treatments at low cost. The success hastened and the company has already thirty clinics around the country and now wants to move towards a system of franchising. The secret is in the place of production of material used: China.
The figures depend on the treatment. A crown, for example, that a dentist normal cost 300 euros for the patient - paid between 35 to 50% of the actual cost, depending on their health subsystem - cost only 69 to 100 euros in McZahn. All because the consultation is done in Germany, but the crown - such as bridges, dentures and other prostheses - are produced at low cost in Chinese laboratories. The quality is certified, because all the material used by technicians is produced in German soil.
The results are in sight. The company has already three thousand patients a day in visits and phone calls, which forced the McZahn to open clinics from north to south of the country in the space of just three months - the first clinic opened in the city of Krefeld in September this year. And the phenomenon promises not leave it there. The master and pioneer of the idea, Werner Brandenbush, it ensures that by the end of 2009, will open more than 450 clinics across Germany, which generate another four to five thousand jobs.
The criticisms and rivals - But the success of McZahn not be exempt from criticism. The Association of Dentists Germans believe that the new business is bad for dentistry, considering that the quality of clinical service is not the same, and accuses the dentists who choose to work in McZahn of only seeking quick profit. To work at the company, a dentist paid 35 thousand euros for "registration" and must give a percentage of monthly revenue to the company. Still, the gains seem to compensate.
Brandenbush argues that their dentists are responsible for patients and good professionals, and says it is pleased with the success of clinics and with the number of dentists who want to work in McZahn. The German entrepreneur, who comes from the textile industry, has already made public that wants to move to a system of franchising. Even so, will have to prepare for competition from a new brand: it is called "Dr.Z" AG, produces everything in Turkey and wants to invest in Eastern Europe with the opening of more clinics.
A poll published in Stern magazine that tells about 72% of Germans are willing to support this type of service.
