A Portuguese private university is training health professionals in France by 9500 euros, bypassing the selective admission of universities.
The University Fernando Pessoa, based in Porto, opened in Toulon and has training for dentists, pharmacists, speech therapists and psychologists. According to Le Monde, there are about a dozen of registered dental students after they have paid the said amount. But according to this newspaper, the students enrolled in this university are moving in front of students each year fail to enter a university because of the numerus clausus of the French educational institutions, which limit the number of admissions in the courses.
The National Union of Dental Surgery Students already rebelled against the existence of the Portuguese branch in that country and believes that this goes against the principle of equity in higher education and directly surrounds the health education system, including the numerus clausus.
